About Lee Bloomquist
Lee Bloomquist is an information officer at Iron Range Resources in Eveleth, Minnesota. He was born in Virginia, Minnesota and as a youth lived in Hibbing, Fraser (a U.S. Steel mining location near Chisholm), Duluth and Virginia. He graduated in 1973 from Moorhead State College with a mass communications degree and worked for 24 years as an Iron Range reporter for the Duluth News Tribune, Hibbing Daily Tribune and Mesabi Daily News. He also worked in the late 1970s and early 1980s at U.S. Steel’s Minntac Mine in Mountain Iron as a laborer and metallurgical technician. In his time away from work, he coached girls’ volleyball and basketball at Cherry High School in Iron, Minnesota. For the past 32 years, he has resided in Iron.
