One hundred twenty representatives from northeastern communities attended a Monday, April 27, 2009, Economic Stimulus Resource Workshop at the Mountain Iron Community Center.
Iron Range Resources hosted the workshop to bring community leaders and potential partners together to plan and prepare for community and economic development.
Federal and state agencies familiarized community leaders on how communities can benefit from federal stimulus funds and details on project priorities.
Presenters from federal and state agencies such as Minnesota Management and Budget, Minnesota Department of Transportation, Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development, Minnesota Department of Commerce, Minnesota Housing Finance Agency, United States Department of Agriculture, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Small Business Administration and others, provided information on projects and contact information on stimulus programs that are available.
